Corporate Media Lapdogs

For those following the latest from D.C., Scott McClellan's book detailing how the White House used propaganda to sell the war has set off a bit of a media firestorm. Well, Glenn Greenwald has a few great posts illustrating how the corporate media is, pathetically, defending themselves and their sad, lap-dog like, "reporting" during the run up to the war in Iraq. It really is a must read.

Here, here and here.

Rezko...what to look forward to...

We will no doubt hear about the Rezko affair and Obama's connection with him. Glenn Greenwald has done the due diligance to see what it may all mean. His conclusion? There's nothing there. He compares it to the Whitewater investigation that turned up no wrong doing on the part of the Clintons. Let's hope the media does their due dilligence, too, rather than take a ride of the hype machine so popular in politics.

I want to point this out because I know the Republicans (and Clinton) will use this non-story to try and damage Obama.

Greenwald also has an interesting post on the media's love affair with hanging out with the very people they are supposed to be covering. It really is revealing (and sad).
