Science Killed Ben Stein's Relatives

Ben Stein, he of "Bueller, Bueller, Bueller," fame says this about scientists:

When we just saw that man, I think it was Mr. Myers [i.e. biologist P.Z. Myers], talking about how great scientists were, I was thinking to myself the last time any of my relatives saw scientists telling them what to do they were telling them to go to the showers to get gassed … that was horrifying beyond words, and that’s where science — in my opinion, this is just an opinion — that’s where science leads you.

Soooo, science leads us to death. Hmmmm. Tell that to my mom that survived colon cancer because of, wait for it...SCIENCE. Tell that to those living with HIV because of, wait for it...SCIENCE. Let's not forget Ben Stein has a career in film because film was made possible by, wait for it...SCIENCE. If I remember correctly, Mr. Stein is hawking Clearasil eye drops which "gets the red out." I wonder who discovered how to get the red out? Wait for it...SCIENCE.
I guess I can understand why Mr. Stein is saying such stupid things, though. After all, he does have a movie to sell to the gullible masses of right-wing christianist.

But there is a problem with Mr. Stein's movie. It's full of lies. No surprise there, proponents of intelligent design have always had an iffy relationship with the truth.
